Our Grenache is a blend of two Paso Robles vineyards. Carriage Vineyard is located in the El Pomar District, the Grenache is planted on a high ridge facing northwest. The soils are dominated by calcium and limestone formations. The fruit is bright with intense strawberry and violets. Onx Vineyard, located just south of Zenaida in the Templeton Gap District is planted on a distinctly different alluvial soil heavy with river cobble and Adelaide stone. Grenache from this site is dominated by strawberry and rhubarb notes. The wine is de-stemmed, fermented in small open top fermenters and aged in select 500 liter French oak puncheons for 15 months. The three vineyard blend is a mix of sultry ultra ripe berry and floral notes. Strawberry rhubarb pie flavors dominate with ripe berry fruit and leather undertones.
